Advanced Solar and Wind Energy Generation

Students will receive advanced instruction in the concepts of Solar PV and Small Wind systems and their components, along with general sizing and electrical/mechanical design requirements. The students will cover advanced electrical theory as well as the applicable NEC. This course also provides an overview of performance analysis and troubleshooting. Students will develop energy analysis skills to improve energy efficiency and application of renewable energy system. They will evaluate and recommend energy solutions with greater efficiency and lower environmental impact with the added benefit of energy cost savings. This course builds upon the previous course in preparation for nationally recognized certifications. Successful completion of this course will prepare trainees for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Entry Level Examination. Students will also be prepared for ETA solar and wind level 1 installer certification exam.
