Students will be introduced to wind energy systems. This will be both a classroom and hands-on approach. Key content includes: Introduction to Wind Energy, Introduction to Wind Turbine Safety, Climbing Wind Towers, Introduction to Electrical Circuits, Electrical Theory, Electrical Test Equipment, Electrical Wiring, Alternating Current and Three Phase Systems, Circuit Breakers and Fuses, Switching Devices, Power Distribution Systems, Fasteners and Lubrication. Students will learn the basic elements to help them comprehend the building industry. These elements include but are not limited to such topics as basic safety, introduction to construction, introduction to blueprints, basic rigging, and basic communication and employability skills.
