Worcester Tech FFA 2018 MD Ag Council Grant Winner
(February 7, 2018) – At the Maryland Taste of Agriculture event held February 1, 2018, Worcester Tech FFA received one of only 5 grants provided across the state this year by the Maryland Agriculture Council. Ms. Flores, from Worcester Technical High School in Newark, MD attended the event to accept the $1000.00 grant that will fund animal projects for the Worcester Tech FFA Chapter. Ms. Flores is the new FFA Advisor and Agriculture Science teacher for Worcester County in Maryland.
The Taste of Agriculture dinner is an annual event of networking, food, and conversation with agriculture industry representatives. The event is hosted by the Maryland Agriculture Council whose mission is to promote Maryland Agriculture and to educate the public on the importance of the agriculture industry within Maryland. Elected officials and agriculture organizations from across the state were in attendance. Speaker for the evening was Governor Larry Hogan. Local officials who attended included Senator James Mathias, Delegate Charles Otto, and Delegate Mary Beth Corozza.
